Hello everybody,
I am happy to say that last night Jason and I finally created the map that will be used in the next 40k campaign. We have yet to name the territories but the map is created and is large enough to accommodate 10 players.
This is a list of who we have scheduled to play so far. Please let me know if there will be any changes.
Jason N. (campaign co-ordenator) Sisters of Battle Jason W. Dark Eldar Aaron Salamanders James W. Chaos Undivided Joel Orks Chris H. Imperial Guard John M. Nids Byron Khorne Kurt Thousand Sons Beav Eldar
Alternate list Lee Aaron L
While Jason and I were planning the next campaign another concern came up. On the forums a few of the people participating in the campaign will be going to the Orcon on Febuary 17. The following Saturday Feb. 24th is the RTT at game empire. This would mean that we would miss two consecutive Saturdays. This is something we are trying to avoid. Jason proposed that instead of starting on February 3rd that we instead start on March 3rd. That would give us four consecutive Saturdays; the 3rd, 10th, 17th, and 24th, and the 31st, would be the RTT. If everybody is ok with this we will postpone the start of the campaign so that its participants can enjoy the Orcon and the RTT.
Please let us know what you guys think. This is going to be our 5th campaign and it looks to be the best one yet. We have some new missions that are lots of fun to play. We have new ideas for territories on the map as well as new strategic elements. I have to give a shout out to Greg T. who gave us a lot of great ideas. I will be looking forward to seeing you all on the field of battle.

Aaron you would definetly be a welcome addition to the campaign. You have beautiful armies and you are lots of fun to play against. However we already have 10 players and the map can only hold 10 players. I know this because I helped create the map. Jason and I experimented with all kinds of different map sizes and rezolution and it seems as if the biggest map we can make is one for 10 people. If somebody drops out or if we find better way to make a map we will definetly have you in the campaign.

It matters little to me when we start. I am easy, as they say (or at least my WIFE says so). March 3rd sounds like a fine start time. I will also be bringing the Eldar this time. Going to give the Necrons a break.

It sounds like you guys have more peeps wanting to play than can (at least 2 peeps, anyway). Why not check if more peeps would want to do the campaign, have those that would (assuming a minimun number of additional peeps commit to a campaign using your rules) vote to have someone manage the second group, and have that second group pick a different day in the week for their campaign games. Basically, they'd be using your map and rules, but one of them would have the headache of doing the record-keeping for you.
Alternatively, you could "flip" the map horizontally or vertically so the 2nd group wouldn't have the exact provinces as the first. Add in some minor name changes to the zones of control... Call the 1st map [map name] primus and the second map [map name] secondus for continents on the world being fought over...
Eh, just a thought.

OK first to address Ben's comment. Ben you have a good idea, however there are some issues that will prevent us from implementing your idea right away. One reason is that the map takes a few hours to update. I know it does not seem like much but it is very difficult. Also we are focusing on revamping the current system to include more players. What you suggested will definetly be considered in the future once we have refined the campaign to perfection.
Also Jason wants everybody to know that all the maps and material (missions etc) are open to everybody to use. If you ever want to use our missions or maps just contact Jason and he will be happy to share.
Reece you are the campaign godfather. We would love to have you back one day. Lets shoot for macello 45 (The Return of Reece).
On a side note Jason, myself and several other people in the campaign will be meeting at Game Empire on Saturday morning (feb 3) to play some games and test out some ideas for missions etc. So if you are a campaign vetran or are new to the campaign you should come down and play on Saturday.

Although I'm not in the campaign I would like a shot at some of the missions. I haven't played in a while, and in a few months I won't be playing for quite a while. Quite a long while as it turns out.

Sure Ben, you can come help us playtest some missions. We have 3 new ones that were not in the previous campaign plus. I wish we had room for everybody in the campaign. Like I said before we would like to include everybody but the map is only so big and we also don't want to take up all the tables at Game Empire. Like I said before anbody interested in playing with us Saturday Morning is welcome to drop by say hi and get a game in. We have a couple of missions we would like to playtest before the campaign begins and also we could use some ideas for new missions as well. Hope to see you on Saturday morning.

I may swing by for some playtesting.
Dont fret to much Joel. This will teach me to wait until the last second to enter a campaign. It is better than not having enough and having to beg for people to enter! You guys had a plan and I would suggest sticking with that plan.
