Anyone reading or read the horus heresy series? I just finished the second book. So far they are pretty good. I find myself getting bored about half way through a lot of the 40k novels but this one has remained interesting to me.

I still don't get why erebus did what he did, does that get expanded on in the third book?

This series rocks and it is something the hardcore old school 40k players have wanted to read for a LONG as time.

Just started reading the third one. on about page 100. I can't wait to finish it. These have been really good.

Anyone read any of the necromunda books? I thought about getting some as the setting could be cool.

Fear the Necromunda books - I read one (Junktion), and it was painful to do.  Grab an Abnet or King novel instead.

I tried to resist for the longest time reading 40k books because I thought it took you to another level of nerdiness beyond just playing the game.  However Jason Wilson loaned me a copy of the first Horus Heresy book.  It took me a long time to get into it.  It was not much fun to read in the begining but second section of the book reall got my attention and I finished the book very quickly after that.  I am now wanting to ready the second book in the series.

I'm two books in to the Horus Heresy and really enjoying the series.  It's too bad they can't put together a decent series for Fantasy.

The Abnett books are pretty good, too.  Gaunt's Ghosts is a long series that just keeps getting better and better.

Robin Laws is a pretty good author, what about his series?
