3 questions:
1. Why do your rivers end before reaching the hill ;-)
2. Can any infantry unit hold objectives down to the last man standing, or is there a scoring unit treshold (I recommend the first)
3. Can I bring any army composition alowed in Apocalypse or are there limitations beside the super heavies ?
(Can my spacemarine captain lead my Orc army)
Thanks
Marko

1. There are underground well springs that come to the surface, run downhill for a few (miles), then disappear underground again. 2. Per 5th edition, a lone trooper (who is not running away) can claim/hold an objective. 3. For game (army point) balance, I may have to put an Ork player and a Space Marine player together. However, individual players who want to put multiple armies together to field 4000 points, please follow APOC allies chart. If they are hated enemies, please don't combine them.

Why are there so many exceptions for the "No Infantry" rule? Bikes, Infiltrate, Dedicated Transport, Non-Dedicated transported, Drop Pods, Jump Packs, etc. You can make an entire 4k pt army out of those without even trying to bring tanks/vehicles.
Given the above list, why specifically ban the one deep-striking unit that would make the most sense... assault terminators with thunderhammers?
I might suggest a limit of no more than 1/4 points spent on allowed infantry if you really want to keep this a tank battle... but even that sounds like too much for an armored olympics.

Yes, that is quite a list of exceptions. What I'm hoping to get across is a mobile army, a blitzkrieg-type army, not a whole lot of foot-slogging infantry, which in the past has really bogged down large battles. I imagine the transported troops will find themselves hoofin' it once their transports get blown up, but at least they started out in vehicles. There's just enough troops and infantry to take and hold objectives, while not overwhelming the battlefield, I think. And yes, the best troops for this tank battle would be deep striking terminators, but if allowed, then like in most other battles, the table will be swarming with them, detracting from the "tank" part of this scenario. And the inclusion of certain types (jump) allow for certain armies to not be excluded (plus jump infantry are fast and won't get left in the dust). And if there aren't enough troops near the end to take objectives, then this battle is designed to still be won by tank/vehicle kill tallies.

180 boyz + trukks X #players doesn't seem very "tank battle". If you want armor on armor I'd just disallow any infantry at all, that's all I'm saying.

I own 48 meltaguns that I could bring in 8 different units and still have over 2000 points left to spend. I suggest adding in something to favor the tanks over the infantry: high gravity type tank-shocking rule. Due to higher than normal gravity, and days of fighting, Infantry really struggle to dive out of the way of the on coming tanks. On a 4+ each model in the path of a tank shock must take an armor save or take a wound. Otherwise, I think the game will turn into a game of infantry killing tanks, rather than the tank on tank action. -Matt

Well, I certainly hope people play in the spirit of the scenario, rather than show up and try to break it.
But just in case, what do you think of this:
No more than 1000 points can be spent on infantry type models, and even then they must be mounted in vehicles of some kind (except for jump and infiltrators).

No more than 1000 points can be spent on infantry type models, and even then they must be mounted in vehicles of some kind (except for jump and infiltrators). Better for the theme of "tank-fest". I don't think Infiltrators need a special exception. If you allow them, let them use their new "flank march" type ability from 5th Ed or simply disallow them too. They deployed on A battlefield, just not the correct one since the armored columns engaged early/late/closer/father/whatever than expected and they can't make it to the fight in time. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind see a little infantry... especially the dedicated anti-tank units... but its always been my experience that given the opportunity to exploit/break something, players will exploit the hell out of it. 5th ed gimped vehicles ability to attack on the move... that's PERFECT for infantry to slaughter tanks en-mass, especially since they automatically attack rear armor.

Honestly I wouldn't mind the player that fields 200 points of marines and 2000 points of Orcs, as much as a guy bringinging all Tau but sprinkling in a Libarian to get phsycic hood, a Eldar farseer for his abilities and some storm troopers to measure range before shoting the Tau tanks. As for the infantrry why don't you bann everything that doesn't enter the field in a vehicle of some sort, maybe allowing bikes and walkers but maybe not. thanks Marko

I agree I think that it should be a tank battle and everything you bring must be a tank or something with an armor value. So if you bring a squad you must also bring their transport. I would personally not allow any troops to infiltrate and I am not a fan of drop pods either. I would limit the game to actual transports (rhinos, landraiders etc) I want the tank battle to actually be a tank battle.

I like that idea too... a lot actually. Keep it a game for treadheads. Drop pods, dreadnaughts, titans, and all that other stuff gets enough attention in other Apoc scale games. I've got over a dozen tanks (and thats just counting actual tanks!) that rarely get their moment in the sun!
