It is a painting contest so conversions are not nessasary at all.   Do whatever you want.  It MUST be a new model though.  Not something you painted a year ago.  The two months to paint it should give you plenty of time.

Also I will have the entry forms as well as flyers up at the store on the first of October.  You will not get the 10% discount on the model if you purchase it from GE before that.

Everyone please note, this is a self policing contest. If you painted the model before now, please do not enter it.  The goal is to do a new model, and have the same time frame to get it done.  If you enter something older, and someone knows that you've had it for years, it will be disqualified.  If we catch you.

Oh, and just so you all know...Aaron is NOT entering the contest, he's judging! That should make a few of you "experts" feel better about entering.

The poster is up at GE as well as a few flyers.  You do not have to pay the entry fee of $5.00 until you enter the model.

Cliff has offered 10% off any standard bearer model bought from his store.  To receive the discount however you need to pay the $5.00 entry fee at time of purchase.  Also (and I already tried this) the discount does not count when purchasing one of the large box sets.  I tried to say that the standard bearer model was inside the Dwarf Army box set...but it didn't work! Grin

Lastly, I am taking commisions for whomever wants me to paint their entry for this years contest.  I can only take two commissions and each will go for 400.00.

Just kidding!

Well anyways, if you have any questions feel free to ask.

GE has donated some money to the prize pool and ALL of the entry fees will go towards prize support as well.  I have also spent a lot of time making the trophies for this contest so hopefully we will have enough entries to at least give all those away as well.  I am really excited to see what people come up with this time around!

Please remember that this is a PAINTING contest....you can convert all you want but you will be judged on painting only!

So I can buy a Leman Russ kit at 10% off, take a 40mm base and build it up like a big upside down pyramid cliff, hang a banner off the barrel or an antenna pole and call it an 'army standard'?

Seriously though... I bought my model today and no one else had signed up yet.

Clothing optional!  That goes for Bobs paint night as well on the 19th!

Also, if you can fit a LR onto a 40mm base, go for it!
