I have to say that i was rather disappointed by it... the story had the typical cheesy "hey main character youre Kyano Reeves" plot device to it, the action was so so, and overall the events and characters were predictable... i really wouldnt recommend spending 10 bucks to see this film

So does it qualify for:

Hey wait for the DVD and pay $19 for the whole family!!

of

Meh, wait for the DVD sale and don't pay more than $9.99?

Sounds more like, "Wait for Netflix, where you pay $19.99 a month".  If you get several DVD's per month, then the price per DVD rental goes down, and the cost for a bad movie is negligible.  I do it all the time...

I'm going today, only because I have a free pass because they screwed up the start of the movie so much when I went to see AVP2.  I really want to see it on the big screen for the special effects.  I'll be sure to check my brain at the door.  I like to call this kind of movie "Scifi/Fantasy Porn."  Its just as good with the sound off, the dialog and story aren't important.

i guess the best way to put it is simply... I was hoping for apocolypto quality, but what we got was a cheaper more serious version of the scorpion king...

Except that's still 2 hours of your life down the drain...  If you spend 2 hours on Battlefield Earth, you can never get them back.

OK, saw it, and enjoyed it.  It was exactly what I expected. Good effects, cool action scenes.  OK plot, lots of typical movie plot devices, but what do you expect from the guy who did Independence Day.  Overall a fun experience.  Don't expect anything actually historically correct though.  Consider it a fable, or a fantasy movie about another world.

That is pretty much what I was expecting, a fun popcorn flick.

I heard you need at least 51" to do it justice so you better for out the money to go see it on the big screen. Cheesy Don't forget the popcorn and soda too. Cheesy

The new Dark Knight trailer was rumored to be shown before 10k B.C.

I wasn't.

At my theater, they showed the Batman and Ironman trailers, along with the next Narnia movie.  Ironman looks awesome!

John, it would probably be just as good on your bigscreen.
