We are not official yet, but now we have the 1 event under our belts and should be able to become official.

What else is required to become official?

I have to relook at the requirements, but I am pretty sure that the only issue we had was never having hosted the Broadside Bash before.  I think that we had all the other requirements.

Sponsorship by a current Indy GT group. I approached several last year and none were willing to offer support. I imagine that things will change now that we've got a successful tournament under our belts.
