Just so's you know, I was looking through the Apoc book, and I can bring Terminators and Genesteelers together.  Woot.

Based on this, you could do the new Chaos Codex Termies of doom, and bring assault cannon termies.  For that matter, you could do daemon princes and hive tyrants.  This gets really ridiculous!  Awesome, or to keep in theme, woot!

Just so's you know what I'm thinking of bringing tomorrow.

Chuy, 2 Hive Tyrants, The Red Terror, 5 Carnifexes; with the proviso, if'n ya'll don' mind, that one of them is a Dreadnaught, and the Red terror is not painted.  We are, afterall, testing, right?

Otherwise, I dunno what I'll bring.

Hehe...though I appreciate your enthusiasm and devilish streak Wink

I'm prepping the latest rules at this moment, and should have 'em posted by this afternoon.

While you prep your lists, consider under page 37 "Special Rules & Restrictions" that Apocalypse was intended to be modified "The bottom line is that the Apocalypse mission has been designed as a starting point.  You and your gaming group should feel free to modify it to suit the type of game you want to play!"  [their exclaimation, not mine].

That being the case, and this being a campaign (by design requiring rules/restrictions), please be aware that Mega-battles in this campaign have the following rules:

- The game will be 5000 points v. 5000 points, with each participant being required to field at least 2000 points of their army. I'm laying out a means of increasing the points as an option, but 5000 will be the most likely game.

- You must use the army declared (traits/doctrines where appropriate) in the campaign and follow its army codex for the purposes of selecting units.

- There can only be two teams playing.

- Armies on the same team cannot benefit directly from their ally's respective army attributes.  Nid player cannot transport Genestealers in a Land Raider, a Devilfish cannot claim benefits from the Ork ally's kustom force field.

- WYSIWYG and DYSWIS are in effect.

-  Flyer LOS rules supercede DYSWIS, unless declared as Skimmer.

- Destroyer Weapons will be counted as Str 10 for the purpose of determining Instant Death.  In all other ways D weapons behave as described (automatically wound).  You cannot kill a Carnifex in one shot.

- Titan, super-heavy, and gargantuan units cannot hold objectives.

- Strategic Assets are not allowed.  Datasheets containing such benefits will ignore those benefits.

- If you field a unit requiring Apocalypse templates, you are responsible for having those templates on hand.

- Except for the following restrictions, Force Organization requirements is not enforced:

    - HQs are limited to the standard 2 per army.  Allies cannot share force organization slots 'I'll use one HQ, why don't you take 3'.

    - 0-X units are granted twice the limit.  0-1 becomes 0-2, 0-2 is becomes 0-4.

    - No assassins.

    - Special Characters are not permitted except from the following codices:  Dark Angels, Blood Angels, Eldar, Chaos.  These are the balanced Spec Characters of the post-Chambers methodology.

    - Gargantuan, Titan, super-heavy units cannot comprise more than 25% of the total forces deployed per team.  In a 5000 point game, you may use up to 1250 points of any of these units that would be permitted for your teams' armies.  The two teams would have to field 10000 pts each in order to put a Warlord on the table.

Now...back to work... Grin

Unfortunately  I will not be able to attend Sat.'s festivities. Angry  I will be out of town, but I sure do miss all of you, sniffle, sniffle, (wiping tear from eye) - no really, I miss the glory of combat and stench of war!

Have fun and post how things turn out.  When exactly are we starting the campaign?  Too early to say?  Early November?
